I agree-as usual-with Rally!

What is the deal with Zalmans pricing. What really bothers me is I need a good HTPC cooler for my Silverstone Sugo and the NT06 wont work for me because my PCPower psu does not have a fan at the bottom. I guess Zalman caters to the noobs that shop at frys and Compusa who dont shop around or the nubs that read Maxximum PC reviews as the word of Jobe........MaxPC even rated a thermalpuke WC as Kick ass once.

I'd like to see a cooler with this design perform as well as a ThermalRight Ultra-120-Extreme. I can see some advantages to having the cooler sit low on the motherboard with a simple and effective ducting-mod.

But I don't think -- from the review -- that it comes close to the TR coolers as a group.

I think this cooler would be aimed more at SFF builders who have limited space options. I'd love to drop a Tuniq or Ultra 120 Extreme in my Lanbox, but I don't have the space. My next best choice are short radial fin coolers like this Zalman, although I don't think I'd be getting this unless it could prove to be a big improvement over my 7700.

Looks good, but is too tall to fit in my case (most good coolers are too tall to fit in most SFF cases.). I have about a 90-100 mm clearance. At that height, my only other real options are the NT-06, and Thermalright XP-90/XP-120 (plus fan).

I see your predicament clearly now. Even when they went from the XP-120 to the SI-120, the cooler was a full inch or so taller . . .

Soon == sooner or later -- just a bit later -- I'll start posting the summary photos and narrative on my "Chrome Lightning" mod -- a 1994 Compaq ProLiant Business Server case. I just went in the opposite direction of the prevailing trend toward SFF and smaller cases. . . . . and lighter cases . . . . I understand there's a Dell gaming machine that only weighs about 45 lbs.

I had to transport the Chrome Lightning via SUV to my brother's house. Surely, the SUV could handle it.

But getting it into the car, or out of the car . . . . all I can say is this: I was brilliant for choosing 3"-diameter double-wheeled casters which each can support 175 lbs. And I was no dummy for buying that $50 polished aluminum billet-handle set, either.

But like I said -- at the rear door of the SUV -- "heavy lifting."
