Does anyone have this combination? Was wondering how the 120mm fan fit on this board and if it interferred with the ram or 2 video cards in sli formation.

I have the 7700 installed on the A8N SLI. It does overhang the first RAM slot, and has about 1cm clearance above the top of my Leadtek 6800GT. There is quite a lot of room around it, and it doesn't interfere with anything apart from the RAM. I have OCZ Platinum PC3200 Rev 2, which is fairly tall RAM as it is and there is still plenty of room.

have 7700 alcu installed on a8n-sli. plenty room. make sure you put the backplate the right side up. the zalman logo should show from the backside. otherwise, the metal screw may short your board.

However, do NOT try and install this 770 with a Corsair Twinx XLPro (the one with the LED's). The memory is 1.75" high and that violates the rule that no part can be higher than 1.53" within 2.6" from the center of the CPU. I know, I bought the PRO and it is too tall. Speaking with Corsair technicians, they tell me that the the regular XL is within the spec. I have not yet tried it, but I will get an RMA from ZipZoomFly and exchange the memory.

Anyone else have a scoop on this?

I'd like to see a picture of that.

Being the geezer that I am, I will get you pictures in the morning and post to this board if I can. Otherwise, send me your email address at alkolkin@yahoo.com and I will send you what I have. I have NOT opened the Zalman box (for fear of not getting an RMA if nothing would work), but I can show you the size of the memory. Will that help?

Let me know by email and I will help you anyway I can. By the way, I did this sort of a thing for a living 10 years ago, but this is my first board in a very long time and it is a thing of beauty.

OK, here goes my attempt at being a photographer (I fail) AND being a techie (not too bad, but still learning).

The exact quote on the CNPS7700-Cu Zalman Cooler on an "AMD Sempron/AMD64 (Socket 754/939/940)" is: "No components higher than 39mm (i.53in) should be present within a 68mm (2.69in) radius from the center of the CPU."

I have pictures, but cannot paste them into this reply. If I have an email address to which to send them, I will. If someone lets me know how to attach two photographs to the reply, I will.
