Hey do i need to install the fan speed adjust switch that came with the zalman 7000 cpu heatsink fan? I plan to leave the cpu fan at max speed, so if I just plug it directly onto the mobo fan connector, does it run at max speed? I really dont want to install that blob fan adjuster unless i have to. thanks

If your mobo doesnt slow it down based on a fan controller then plug it straight in for full speed. I would say leave it on though cause turned up it will also run full speed and if its too loud you can turn it down.

I run a fanmate on my CPU cooler and I have a Vantec Aeroflow, those little things just allow the little tweak that might save your insanity.:D

It allows your change the speed/noise of your fan. You don't really need it, but its up to you if you can stand the noise.

You get 2-300 more rpms from your fan without it. I am not running it in mine as my powersupply and case fans are still much louder than it.

I currently have my Zalman 7000AlCu HSF plugged directly into my Abit IS7. Works fine and the noise to still pretty quiet compared to my previous setup. Temps look good with my 2.6C

I saw leave it off.
