I'm quieting the noise in my main rig and I'm purchasing an SLK-900(a). To go with it, I'm looking at the Zalaman ZM-F2. Anyone use it? It's "pre" volt-modded to 5.5v. Will this be dangerous to my PSU if I run it off of a 3-pin MB connector or adapt it to a 4-pin molex?

Nice little quiet package I put together for my system.

1. SLK-900(a) = $19.99
2. YL-Tech 120mmx25mm = $6.99
3. Zalaman ZM-F2 92mm = $5.99

Total = $32.97 + S/H....not too shabby imo.

I have two... :D ...pretty much inaudible when you have the resistor... i have both of them on seperate motherboard headers. :D Works fine on my old P3 board. :)

Is this actually, pre-done? Or do you have to put the resistor in-line yourself. If so, are the directions good? Is any soldering involved?

The resistor is just something you plug in. It goes between the fan header... and the motherboard header or whatever you want to plug it into. Heres a pic of it. It's the one in the middle. Very easy to take off if you want to run the fan at full speed later on. :)

I've use a couple of the ZM-F1s (80mm) and ZM-F2s and they've been great quiet fans :)

I always use the resistor and it's been mobo safe for me so far!
