Kevin Smith's dialogue is painfully contrived. He's sort of like Quentin Tarantino, except Tarantino has good direction and style to make up for the dialogue.

Some of my favorite Kevin Smith stuff is his "stand-up comedy" that he does. I don't really consider it stand-up because it's really just a Q&A session where he interjects a lot of comedy, but it's still good.

Last I heard, this title was having quite a few problems getting rid of its NC-17 rating. There was some interview with Rogen about how he's pissed that hacking people up in Hostel, Saw, etc is alright to be rated R, but some hot sweet lovin' is rated NC-17 ( remember how Titanic was PG-13 even with boobies  ).

Completely agree with him. I know we've had this debate here many times, but I think it's absolutely ludicrous how people are so afraid of showing a nipple, but are more than content to let their 10 year old see someone be tortured or mutilated. It's insane.

they are going to have to butcher the movie to get the R rating. will wait for the unrated dvd to be released.

That was terrible. I hope it isn't indicative of the content in the finished movie. I dislike the male lead, so that doesn't help.

It's more natural and convincing than Judd Apatow's rehashed stuff. I swear the guy has only written 7 lines of dialogue, he just reworks them over and over again to fit the scene.

Just looking at the rating system had me shaking my head.

At 17 you can die for your country but you are too young to see or hear about sex in a movie, have a beer, drive after midnight or vote.

What misplace priorities the morality police have put into effect.

This might be an ok movie if it's anything like Orgazmo. Orgazmo also had a lot of weird problems with the rating. Look at what IMDB says:

Iceland:12 | Ireland:18 | Portugal:M/12 | USA:NC-17 (appeal) | Australia:R | Belgium:KNT (video premiere) | Canada:16+ (Quebec) | Canada:18A | Finland:K-16 | France:-12 | Germany:18 | Hong Kong:III | Malaysia:(Banned) | Netherlands:12 | Singapore:R21 | Spain:13 | UK:18 | USA:Unrated (cut version) (1997-2005) (re-rating) (unrated uncut special edition) (2005) | Canada:R (Unrated special edition)

So in the US it's 18+. In Iceland you only need to be 12. Spain is 13. Singapore 21. This is all over the place.
