He's probably the type of guy that wants his coach on the sidelines the whole game. So no, it won't happen.

Well, seems likely that either Tedi Bruschi or Junior Seau will retire which does leave a hole a LB, but I'm not sure adding another aging veteran is what they really need at this point. Those guys looked pretty gassed towards the end of the season, so I think they'd be targeting some youth in the LB and safety positions.

I figure Seau and Bruschi are probably going to be gone, I'm not expecting Harrison to leave just yet.

- He could retire unless he goes to a contender
- The Patriots are contenders
- Bill Belichick has a hard on for older LBs who know the game

What do you think? Possible? Plausible? Unlikely?

Link doesn't work .... :(

And although Thomas is very talented he's getting on in years himself (for an NFL player) ... if they can sign him without giving up anything but salery it would be a good move, otherwise they need to get younger & faster on defense.

I think the Pats learned the drawbacks of having a lot of old linebackers. They also might not want to pay Thomas what he's worth, he's still VERY productive for an 11 year vet. I could see him going to one of the other contenders like the Chargers, Colts or Cowboys more easily than I can see him going to the Pats.
