Z97 vs Z170

I am currently on the Z97 platform but have been thinking about switching over to the Z170 platform as of late. Aside from cost, what are the benefits of sticking with Z97 and what are the benefits of switching to Z170?
 
Z170 usually have a bit better feature list and of course ddr4. The CPUs are 5-10% better too.

But cost is important. I wouldn't upgrade.

What do you do with your pc? I was on a Z97 and now am using a Z170. TBH I got it so i could get one of the newer m.2 nvme ssd and have it run at full speed(not crippled by lack of pcie lanes) If i had to do it over again i would have stayed with my z97 and saved the money
