Z87 w/ Win 7, which bios settings need changing?

Do you or don't you have to make changes in the bios of a new Z87 board to install Win 7? How or why does having a UEFI bios change Windows installation?
Thanks,
BGC

Having a UEFI bios does not affect the installation process. You shouldn't have to make any changes.

Not correct.

For a proper UEFI install, it will. But the OP doesn't have to. See

and

I have used this to install 8.1 on UEFI. It is a lot quicker, but I still have to get used to access the BIOS via Windows...

Depends what your BIOS options are. I just enabled all that refers to UEFI, or set UEFI only, enable Secure Boot and Ultra Fast Boot, disabled all that refer to Legacy.

If you have an existing, non-UEFI install, this will lock you out. Build the GPT USB-Stick first.

I have an upgrade DVD that I will do a clean install with when I build the new system. My current system runs XP so that my prevent me from making bootable usb sticks.
