Friend's willing to let me have a z87 mini-itx mobo fairly cheaply, I'm wondering how current this stuff is for mini-itx. Are there new processors still being released, I guess this is socket 1150. Is there a new mini-itx compatible chipset coming out i should wait for, etc. Any advice is much appreciated.
 
I was researching this the other day and some say the Haswell refresh CPUs will be compatible with the 8 series motherboards. You may not be able to overclock though. And you may need to flash your BIOS. (I don't know if that will be required. I'm still waiting for news to come out because I read the new chips may come out before the May 11, 2014 release date).
 
They say on Digitimes today that Intel has decided to delay the CPU and chipset launch to May. (Originally in May then announced for April then back to May again.)
