Does anyone know when we will start seeing Haswell Z87 mobo? I know the official release date is the first week of June. At what point do we usually see what companies will be offering?
Intel has a bug in either their Processors or chipsets. Intel being a virtual Monopoly, It has gotten comfortable and Lazy. This is holding up the motherboards while Intel fixes the problem. Intel has almost no competition and almost no reason to reduce prices on anything. The government should be setting their prices. All is not well in Paradise. The only real competition Intel has is Tablets and Phones and the ornry Rapberry Pi. The low power processors running on a low power usage Linux runs opposite to the Intel philosophy of faster more powerful more power hungry processors. Maybe Intel just tried to do too much too fast.
It is possible the processor release date may be pushed back. Haswell only promises a 15% improvement in speed if that much? There are also rumors of an improved Mobile IGP. Crystal or something like that.
This is reminiscent of the hot running P4's. With the world wanting smartphones and tablets should we build for speed or low power efficiency? I think the world is saying they are tired of the big boxes we call the PC. Computers are capable of being the size of a smartphone, but they keep making computers the same size as they did in 1970.
I don't mean when will we be able to buy them but how many weeks before official launch date do we start to see each companies boards? Do we usually start to see them a week or 2 before launch date or even earlier?
We saw a few prototype Z87 Motherboards being shown off at CES 2013 and CeBit 2013, but no final builds. A few tech websites (Tom's, Hot Hardware, etc.) have gotten a few photo shots from the various Mobo manufacturers previewing some of the new boards, but nothing with great detail yet. I would bet that we won't see major details until Intel does its big reveal about Haswell (which is supposed to be at Computex 2013).
Thanks i have seen some but not all of the teasers. I'm hoping with in the next couple of week we start to see more details. (I'm hoping before Computex)
