It does seem like a good idea, I just wonder about dust and dirt getting trapped inside the "armour". Is it removable to clean (without undoing dozens of tiny screws)

This is, definitely, a high-maintenance board in my opinion, although, I haven't personally played with it yet. I suspect, it won't be a dozen and one screw to remove to get it cleaned off, though.
