I need to purchase a MOBO to go along with my i5 2500k that I will be purchasing at MC. I am looking for something mid range and the P8Z77-V LX for $90 as a combo seems like a steal. Only thing that I am thinking is that I will need a wifi adapter which is going to be more money so if there was a comperable MOBO with built in wifi that might be a better option. Thoughts? Thanks.

PS Maybe not the place to be asking but do the USB plug in adapters work well? I plan on gaming with this rig if it makes a difference.

The model up or maybe two models up has Wifi built in. I purchased one myself last week, not set it up yet as haven't had time.
I had the exact same decision as you, I was considering one of the lower end P8Z77-V motherboards, but the difference between the Wifi model (no suffix) and the LX was about the price of a wifi adapter, so I went for the Wifi model.

Edit: apparently it's quite a lot more expensive on Newegg, so that may not be the best idea...

Don't use a WiFi adaptor. Use a router flashed with DD-WRT in "client" mode. Works much better.

yeah with MC's deal I can get ASUS P8Z77-V PRO for $170 just not sure

This is the mobo I have and I love it. It's just a pain to update the bios, but it runs great. The wifi is pretty speedy so you shouldn't have any problem. If you do get it, just remember to be careful with the wifi atenna as it does come disconnected easily if not in a stationary place.
