Z77 extreme4 usb boot

Got a bit of a strange problem.

My z77 extreme 4 detecs my keyboard, ssd and dvd but nt my usb drive. Every usb connection will work with my keyboard, but not a single one of them detects my usb drive. I need it to install w7

I have looked at usb settings bios and i've pressed f11 for boot menu, but it automatically gives me the "can't find boot device" error. Also tried the boot order in bios, but it also does not list the usb.

Try any of the USB 2.0 ports. All of the USB 3.0 ports no workie for me also when I trying to install W7 using USB.

If your Bios is below v1.30 I would update it(USB compatibility is listed). I am currently on Bios v2.00 and everything is going smooth but I think still only the USB 2.0 ports can boot.

Unplug every other devices other than the thumbdrive itself and the target SSD/HDD. I think it is possible to plug in the keyboard and mouse later after you reach the menu where you are prompted to do an install. If all else fails, use a PS/2 keyboard.
