One should never ask a question about RAM issues without specifying the exact manuf number for the kit, which would give the voltage and speed and the latency.
What bios vers is current would be nice too
And what CPU - whether or not a mobo will run say a 2133 speed RAM is dependent on the CPU. Intel says nothing over 1600 is guaranteed, and is considered "overclocking"
ASUS may say mobo is DDR3 2400/2666 "ready", but your CPU might not be "ready"
Generally speaking, without knowing about what RAM we are talking about here, is that 8GB sticks have higher latencies
So 4 X 4GB sticks @ DDR3 1600 1.5V usually has 9-9-9-24
The same sticks as 2 X 8GB units has 10-10-10-28

So with any 8GB RAM you absolutely
must run the XMP profile in bios (AI Overclock)
I would also turn off Intel Turbo in bios
Setting XMP should auto set BCLK @ 100.0
If it doesnt disable CPU spread spectrum
This would be the standard Pak I would use for 16GB (4 X4GB)
High profile

Low profile

Note that both actually list Z77 Saber as compatible
I dont see a single Corsair kit using 8GB RAM on the QVL list @ 1600DDR3
I do see a 4 X 8GB 32GB Corsair kit at 1866DDR3 @ 9-10-9-27
which is prob a bit optimistic for that large a kit.
