i have a gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 and a intel core i5 2500k, i just reformatted everything and decided i wanted to try the UEFI BIOS, so i updated the BIOS successfully but when i try to change the clock speeds, i am unable to input anything, its almost as if its thinks i dont have an unlocked CPU. i had my cpu overclocked to 4.2ghz before i reformatted and updated the BIOS. any thoughts?

I still own this board and I became very frustrated with it and the UEFI bios, it's pretty much a mess. It becomes unresponsive after a failed overclock and causes boot loops as well. I however had a 3570K installed and needed the UEFI bios in order to overlcock using the multi past 42X. Since you have a 2500K I would recommend installing the F12 bios and overclock from there. They also dropped LLC in the UEFI bios and if you want a stable overclock without a ton of vdroop I would go back to the F12 bios. It's not worth the headache....

And welcome to the forums :D

luckly ive never had boot loop that ive heard this board is plagued with *knock on wood*, how do i go about reverting to F12? same process as upgrading to UEFI?
i must say the increased boot time from switching to UEFI is really nice, would love to know if someone has been able to overclock their 2500k

I agree boot times are nice, but not worth the headache. The has Z77X-UD4H better boot times and a real UEFI Bios, I am very happy with this one.
