I'm slowly but surely deciding on a motherboard but upon reading reviews of this board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...k=Z68X-UD3H-B3, I see a comment mentioning lack of fan speed control for the case fans. Seeing that I'm trying to build as quiet as PC as possible with no liquid cooling, it's important that I am able to control most if not all of the fan speeds. Does anyone know more about this or where I could find more info?

Edit: Just read a review of the board on another site confirming the lack of fan speed controls on anything but the CPU but I'm still wondering if this might have been addressed in a bios update?

Try Fanspeed software.
http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

I use it with my EP45-UD3P motherboard to control cpu fan and chassis fan.
On this mobo, 2 headers are 3pins and 2 are 4pins. Both 3pins doesn't control and both 4 pins does control.

I plugged two chassis fan on the controllable chassis 4pins header.
It work very well.

I guess that it should be the same scenario with the Z68X-UD3H.

Most, if not all, Gigabyte motherboards have either shitty fan controls or no fan controls at all.

Yeah, fan control on Gigabyte boards sucks, this coming from experience. Memory compatibility has also been crap. I'm steering clear of Gigabyte for a while.
