z560s REAR SATs + sblive value! wtf?

i did all the connections with the speakers correctly but i cant get my sblive value! to work with rear SATS. i just installed the latests 2k drivers and only ran the spaekr diagnostic only the front two are workming. when i plug the green plug from the speaker(front cannels) into the green jack on my value card, the front speakers will work. if i plug the black plug from the speakers(rear channels) into the green jack on my soundcard. the rear will work. how do i get them to work together. im gonna kills someone!!!

but now let me update.

on winamp, some mp3s play in stereo (all 4 speakers) but some dont. and the ones that do play stereo, the rear sats are still weak compared to the front and the fade on control pannel helps but not much. But when i play games like counterstrike, i get no sound out of the back. the sound quality coming out of these is seriously not that great, thats why i believe something is wrong or im doing something wrong.


another thing, i really dont think im plugginh in the 2 plugs (green and black) fron the control pannel, into the right jacks on my soundblaster live value! does anyone have a diagram or such that could help.

make sure speakers are set to 4 speaker mode in creative's little control panel

I had that happen to my old sb card, I thought the rear jack was fried.
I then put it into a fresly formatted new computer and told the person the rears were fried, he plugged a set into the rears and they worked.
So maybe a fresh install will do the same for you.

hmmm, billyjak, i dont think that will be a viable option for me right now. i guess ill just keep tinkering.

O.K. When I got my Z560s, my rear speakers would not work either. I have a SBLive value and I am running WINME other OS's should have similar. Try START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL>SOUNDS and MULTIMEDIA. Then in the audio tab, under sound playback hit the advanced button, and then under the speakers tab choose Quadraphonic Speakers. Give that a try. I think I ended up getting a Creative CD and throwing the software on, I can't remember if I had and advanced button in the speakers tab before that. Good luck.

Are you not plugging in both the green and black jacks into their respective connectors on the back of the soundcard? I'm having a hard time visualizing what your problem is, because obviously the speakers work if you switch plugs. It is either your sound card or you are not plugging the green into the green, the black into the black(that is what it sounds like). Then go into your SB Live mixer and enable 4 speaker sound.

Seriously, I don't see how people are having trouble hooking these up, 2 color coded jacks are all that needs to be connected to the computer. Then again, I did get rid of my SB Live! because the interface sucks(among other things), so maybe that is your problem.

thanks for all the info guys i did what clb said, and i also installed some creative crap software.

Then kill the M3D on the control tower, and turn the fade maxed out. I now have = output from all speakers (althoguh that stupid EAX program still doesnt recognize the back two speakers) but now im outputing with all 4. so those that are having similar problems, try that solution.

and DEF i know it sounds stupid, but seems to me alot of poeple are having trouble with the sblive + 4.1 combo. the interface on the back of the card does EXTREMLY SUCK. but yes, i was plugging the jacks into their correct respective place afterall.

still no go for me. Which output are you guys using?

wave out or direct sound?
I am using wav, cause with direct, the music skips(it is no use setting priority higher, it reverts to normal on every new song)
