Z560s for tv?

Just got a pair of Z560s and I'm very very impressed. Wondering though, is it even possible to hook it up to a tv or something to get surround sound goodness? I mean, it doesn't sound impossible, although I'm wrong a lot 🙂 Although something probably needs to be done about a reciever. I don't know, just some thought from the wild.

Not that I'm crazy, but the fact that I can get these at 50% off due to an employee discount helps and I would use these if possible.

Thanks

there's several ways to do this YMMV, but one is to use the Headphone jack. Obviously u would need to buy a 2mini-1mini jack to use all the speakers, and then connect it there, not sure how good it would be, but it should sound good since the Z560's have a built in amp.

Another method would be if your receiver has RCA Outputs, in which case all you'd need is a MINI-RCA cable.

Back when i had my Klipsch's, i used the first method and it sounded great.

I asked this question a while back and sohcrates gave me this answer. Use a dual RCA male --> single stereo female minijack and connect it to a single male stereo minijack --> dual stereo female minijack. The former can be found at hifi.com. They have two of different lengths. The latter can be found most anywhere. It is used to connect two pairs of headphones to a CD player sometimes. I saw it at my local Fry's for 1.99.

The Z560's take two 1/8 inch stereo minijack inputs. You need to find a way to get the audio from your tv signal.

Does your TV have audio out, either through a headphone jack or a set of rca connectors?

If not, you'll to get the audio from your vcr's tunner by hooking it up to your vcr's rca audio output. You'll need to have your vcr on so that it outputs the video to your tv and the audio to the Z560.

Then you'll need an rca to 1/8 inch stereo minijack adaper, and a 1 minijack to 2 minijack adapter to get all 4 channels going.
