z560s and back channel

I got brand new refurbished z560s (4.1) from Just Deals. I was wondering if anyone else has experianced how quiet the back channels are. I have a sound blaster live 5.1 and i made sure that the control panel was set to quadphonic. I was just wondering if anyone has anything else i could check but i literally have to stick my ear right up to the speaker just to hear it.
