z560 to dvd help please

can someone please help.
i hooked up my logitech z560s to my dvd player using a 1/8 to rca adapter and everything works fine except for the front right speakers. those dont produce any sound at all, with m3d on or without it on. anyone else who hooked their dvd player or vcr to the z560s having the same problem? i need help please.

1.) Try with your CD player or something else other than the DVD player. If the front right speaker does work, it might be your DVD player.

If the front right speaker does work, proceed to #2.

2.) Try plugging out and plugging in the cable again..... if the front right speaker is not functioning, it might be your poor speaker which accidentally died.

Do you have a DVD player with a built in DD decoder?????

You have to have something to decode the 5.1 channels properly--the z560s have no such capability. Consider buying the new SoundBlaster Extigy. You can connect your DVD player to the Extigy and your speakers to the Extigy. Problem solved.
