I just bought a Logitech Z 560 system from the US through a friend. Since I live in India and I purchased the system from US, the power chord that came along with it was 110V. Now, the power here in India is 220V. So, I need some kind of a step down device. I tried a standard 220 to 110V step down, but it seems that it isn't enough to drive my system. What according to you would be the exact kind of device that I would need so that it would work here? Also, the speaker only shows the output power, which is 400watt RMS, but it doesn't say how much power it would consume. All that the specs say that it is a 120V / 6A.

Please help me out.

You probably just need a higher power step down convertor. You need to go to a electronics store with more options. You need something that's high enough power for a major appliance like a refrigerator.

I tried a 1000 watt step down. Still, it doesn't work. Let me give you a brief description of what happened.

When I tried to switch on the Woofer after connecting the supply to the step down, it started humming. I wasn't sure what this humming was, so I switched it off. Then this funny thing happens. After 10 seconds, after the thing is switched off, out of nowhere, the control Pod lightens up and then goes back off. I tried many times, but still I obtain the same results. Even when I kept the supply on for more than a minute, only after I switch it off and then after 10sec, the contorl pod glows.

Help.
