Z4 M Roadster: BMW readies Detroit drop-top debut

I must admit to hating this car when it came out, but it's growing on me and I never thought it would.

I'll still NEVER buy one, but I can see where they were going with it.

They need the Halo model right now, too. Sales of the Z4 have become pitiful in the last couple of years.

Meh.

That 3.2L 343 HP engine is on the way out of the BMW line. (As is the E46 M3.) It's never been known as a stellar performer, nor for its reliability. If BMW really wanted to generate some headlines, they would have debuted the new M Roadster with something like the rumored 3.5L turbo I6 producing 350 HP or the new 400 HP V8 destined for the E90 M3.

Yeah, it's a terrible engine.

Get a clue.

Well, the engines HAVE been known to "prematurely" fail 😛
