Hi Everyone,

On my ASUS Z170-A, I've noticed that there is still power on the USB and Ethernet port after a system shutdown. For example, the LED on my mouse are still lit after I power off my system. Does anyone know the BIOS setting to disable that feature? I would like to conserve energy.

Thanks!

in the back of the computer where the power supply is, switch it to off.

in BIOS there should be something in the Power Settings section. Maybe called EuP

I think some ports have this feature so that you can charge devices with the computer off.

It's a BIOS option. EuP sounds like the correct name.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I can't find anything related to EuP/ErP or power management. The mouse LEDs stay lit after a system shutdown when connected to a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port. I would like to get rid of this Phantom / Standby Power draw. Any other ideas (beside flipping the switch of the power supply each time)?

Thanks!

It's a feature of the ATX standard.

Put mouse on USB 2.0 port and disable legacy support sometimes works. Keep keyboard on USB 3.0/3.1 with legacy support enabled or no more entering bios.

Or go into bios > Advanced > APM configuration > ErP is there according to the maual. You could try it if USB option doesn't work.

You gave me a Asus rma from hell mb flashback....Ugh!

If you can't find power management settings in the BIOS, you either didn't go into Advanced Settings, or you are blind. :D

Thanks Kenmicth!

I missed the ErP setting in the APM configuration. I set it to S4/S5 and it's all good.
