Z10PE-D8 WS motherboard, RAID problems

Hi All

I'm trying to get RAID 10 set up on a Asus Z10PE-D8 WS motherboard, attached to 8 x 2 terrabyte drives. The BIOS and windows is seeing all the drives, but as soon as we activate either RAID system, it only sees 5 drives.

Anyone know what causes this and how to fix? Thanks!

That happens because the C612 Chipset has two internal SATA Controllers (6 + 4 ports), and you can't make a RAID that spans both of them.
Your best chance is to just do RAID with 6 HDs connected to the 6-port controller (Check what are the 6 SATA ports that belongs to it, since you have 12 in total, so it means that there is an additional third party SATA Controller). Otherwise, you may use a Software based RAID (ZFS, or unRAID) to include all 8 HDs.
