Are you suggesting that just because the corporate name is AMD, there will no longer be any products designed by Ati, like their video cards, and Nv will have the market all to itself? I've worked for a company that got bought out before, and we still continued to sell the same products under a different name, so the Nvidiots have no reason to celebrate just yet.

You had better hope R600 is good - you'll be seeing A LOT of it for a LONG time - the formers ATi engineers will have their noses well and truly glued to AMD's integrated grindstone for the forseeable future.

AMD already said that ATI as a company is gone. It will be a "division" (most likely just a brand name) within AMD. What this means about ATI's video card future only AMD knows. Hopefully they will keep making cards the way the always have been, I don't want to see the race slow down any. However, I think AMD purchased ATI to use their engineers on CPU projects and this may slow their GPU work.

Everything is still pure speculation at this point. R600 will still be out on time. What happens after is anyone's guess.

You're only setting yourself up for a bigger disappointment the more you believe your own FUD. Fusion will be a product, not the product. If you believe that AMD is going to buy one of the leading graphics card companies in the world and then suddenly axe that very lucrative product line then you are a complete loony.
Oh man.. I remember when I first heard the official confirmation that ATI was being taken over by AMD.. I laughed near maniacally and called up a good friend of mine to share the excitement about ATIs defeat.

I didn't know they shipped Nvidia pay-cheques to whatever rock it is you live under. I'm wondering... what will happen to you when "AMD" releases a video card that beats the g80 you've been awaiting so anxiously? Are you gonna become an intel fan, or develop split personalities that favor both Nv and AMD? It must be hard to hate and like the same company all at once.

I have no qualms with AMD. I'm sure AMD will make a great GPU, and AMD will hopefully show the former ATI employees how to make a driver. If R600 has the speed necessary to take on a G81 GDDR4 based card, then I'm willing to buy their product if their driver support improves.
AMD rocks, and they have their finger on the pulse of the technology bloodline if you ask me. They now have control of some very fine GPU engineers as well.
So the official statement is that I'm more excited about future GPU releases from this company than ever.
Probably get something decently supported now.

Getting "pwned" on a forum is a lot different, and matters not in the scheme of the universe.. but preaching hateful attitudes and pretending that being "what the G stands for" is somehow some sort of insult pretty much reveals what kind of kid josh is.
Thats not good to go that route. But between josh and 5150 attacking people on a personal basis instead of their statements, views/stances on subjects is pretty typical of them.
