Im wondering about whether or not i should purchase the Z-560s or the Z3500es.

They are both 109 dollars each so im disputing which one I should get for my room.

Or do you guys think I should get a home theathre system. Would that work as well as these hooked up to a computer although a little more expensive.

Here are some links:

Z-560> http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=36-121-101R&depa=0

Z-3500e> http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproductdesc.asp?description=36-121-121&DEPA=0

Please tell me your opinions

These kind of questions should do in peripherals (or general hardware) for future reference.

I really liked my z-560s when I had them. There are some places that have them for $75 or so refurbished occationally (Justdeals) but $109 is still good.

Investing in a hometheater system would be nice, but if it's going to be one of those $100 or $150 ones, forget it. Don't get a HTIB unless you're going to spend $300 or $400 minimum.

Are you going to be watching a lot of DVDs on it? If it's mainly gaming, go with z-560s, but if you're doing a lot of movie watching, the center channel on the z-5300s would be handy.

Depends on what you plan to use them for. I have the 5300s and they sound great, but I don't think they're powerful enough for home theatre. I rarely play games and never play movies on my PC, so I just unhooked the extra channels I didn't use.

Wait, then why did you even get them?

My brother bought them for me.

Are the 5300s really that much better than the z-560s? I haven't heard the 5300s, but what's the difference? Did logitech vastly improve the satellite drivers or something?

The subwoofer. Most of the power without all the muddy ass crap. Its actually worth having now.

Subwoofer.. 5300's are 5.1... 5300's have onboard dolby digital decoding.. (i belive)

I have the Z-680s.. they are almost the same as the 5300's, just an older model..

They are fukin sweet.. not as hot for music as they are movies..

for the $7 difference and the fact that the Z-560s are refurbs there, get the 5300's for sure

I was under the impression that the z-680s were pretty much just a 5.1 version of the z-560s and the 5300s were a toned down version
