Why is it that they put the solder point outside the casing so that you can bend the connector so easily one way, but not the other when it gets fvcked up.

I have yet to see one where the solder points where far enough in where this doesn't happen. It wasn't cheap either, it retails for $160 for 1GB.

You mean the pins within the USB shroud? I just TRIED to bend those and it didn't. If you're talking about the USB connector as a whole, I had that problem once, it didn't hurt anything and eventually migrated back.
 
Just checked my Flash Drives and I cant see what your getting at. 😕
I got Transcend JetFlash drives and they are Excellent.
