Yup, another 8800 GT or GTS question :)

Get the GTS, it will overclock better and run cooler than the GT.

Of course if you dont care about overclocking or fan noise and just wanna save a few $$ then get the GT.

(note: ive owned both of those EXACT cards, i still have the GTS and sold the GT)

At this current price point both are very much affordable and viable.
It was during the initial release with the low availability where prices on these were a concern. Between those two cards, IIRC the GTS 512 has about a 15% performance boost over the GT, and you're paying an extra 16% AR for it.. so it's fine.

If brand doesn't matter, the ECS 8800gts is actually cheaper than the EVGA 8800gt. Only difference is EVGA's lifetime warranty and ECS's unstated warranty (probably 1 or 3 years). But they are the same exact card, just different stickers on the fans.

Edit: ECS only has a 1yr warranty.

GTS is the better buy with the prices coming down, dual cooler, more processing power, cannot go wrong, buy buy buy

My next video card will be BFG. I have evga right now and have owned many of both brands. Now that BFG has trade-up, I'm going all BFG.
Between those two cards I'd get the GTS for 30 bones.

I was actualy looking at the ECS 8800gts today and wondered about the warrenty myself. I checked the ECS site and found this page. It says "ECS brand VGA Card with NVIDIA Chipset warranty cover from ECS Invoice 36 months for parts and 24 months for part and labor."

This is the card I was checking out.
