you had to have been there since the beginning. trying to find it funny now is understandably impossible. I knew ytmnd since it was called yourthemannowdog.com.

quite a bit of the creations are damn creative. You'll see some crazy .gif/sound edits. Some of the ytmnd shows off some extreme talent, creativity, and deep knowledge of inside comedy.


Trying to get into it now, and then trying to find something funny is impossible. Since you can't find any sense out of it, you guys just bash it. typical ignorant, elitist attitude.
So just ignore it, and leave the people who has been w/ it since the beginning and understand the jokes and enjoy the creativity alone.

it's like its own subculture. it is no different from any culture or social development. We all live in this american media culture, and we all laugh at dave chappelle, chris rock, etc because those comedians use our social and current events/problems, and turn them into comedy.

Since you guys weren't there in ytmnd from the beginning, and actually refuse to even delve into this internet subculture, why even bother to "try" to understand it?

I guess this is also no different from why we bash other cultures we find alien to us.

I've seen so many bashings of other cultures and people in this forum than any other forum i've been in. some of us are really ignorant, and refuse to meld and understand. we just spit at other cultures.
 
YTMND is brilliant in it's simplicity: Sound, Picture, Text.. what's to hate about that? 😕

I guess because there are so many bad sites it gives the whole concept a black eye. Which is ashame because the good site makers have more creativity and photoshop skills then most of the people here.

Besides, a site doesn't get 100,000+ registered users by being stupid, I think most of you guys just take them too seriously, don't expect too much from mostly teenagers.

A lot of the material is aimed at longtime gamers/geeks as well.

There's stuff on there for everyone to laugh at though, some more than others I guess.

Nah, I introduced a coworker to ytmnd.com this past week and he loves it. He got into it through the Star Wars ytmnd's.
