WTF is wrong with this picture? If you're even contemplating it, be safe and just call her. What's the worst that could happen? Yes, this is best if you're still in the 6th grade... when she calls you, you can just tell your mom to tell her that you're not interested any longer.
Be a man and just tell her straight up you don't see it going anywhere and you wanted to be honest about it. She might get pissed/sad if she likes you, but at least she'll appreciate your honesty and take it for what it's worth. No point in dragging something out. I never understood why people go out for months/years when they both know nothing is going to come of it. It's like they just want to drag their misery on.
Don't just cut it off completely, either. It's still entirely likely that you'll do fine as friends.

Don't call back for a few days. Then ask for absurdly kinky sex. Then break up with her during said kinky sex.
Just make the call and be honest. Its kinda flakey not to do so. Even as a male, I've been fed up with flakey females that show interest then suddenly seem to drop off the face of the earth after the 2nd date.
I believe that the cleveland steamer is the traditional way to end a relationship. I may be behind the times on that, though
