Hello all,

I have faced this issue since some time now. When i open youtube on chrome most videos will work properly but quite often a video will try to buffer(I have a slow connection..approx 125KB/s during the day) and stop there. the video will not proceed or buffer even if paused and when I try to reload the page it will show that it is loading(like the spinning circle) but wont load anything.

This happens with any new page as well and will stay that way even if i leave it for any amount of time. even using other browsers does the same and they wont open any page. However I can ping any IP or webpages successfully.
also torrent software will work.
I assume maybe its blocking some port but not quite sure..I have tried running anti virus and malware scans, did a reset IP, winsock, netsh, but to no avail.
the only thing which will solve it is a reboot.
though not a major issue its quite annoying to reboot the pc everytime this happens and its quite frequent lately.

thanks for any help

This is a fairly broad issue, so moving it from OSes to Comp Help

Just like ViRGE say before moving your post.this is a broad issue, but what about starting with your system spec.

Do you have this issue playing the same video on a different machine at the same location?

Do you have issues with any other websites (specifically websites that have videos)?

Are the Androids running off your local connection, or a cellular connection?

Is this a wireless connection or wired? Does the problem exist when using the other connection (LAN vs Wifi)? Have you updated the drivers for the LAN/Wifi?

The android phones and tabs are running off the same wifi network as the laptop..the laptop is connected by wireless to the router..I can give it a try next time this happens to connect with a wire to the router and check..

I havent lately updated any drivers on the pc and its the same configuration as before..

As for a change the only thing I can think of is that I RESET Google CHROME by changing the name of the folder that chrome uses and restarting chrome..
The issue seems to have started after that though I cannot say that with utter confidence.

If you are having the same issue on IE then it is probably not. If the Androids are constantly downloading updates, emails, and whatever else, I could see this possibly slowing down the network. Let us know how wired goes.

I can be certain about the fact that the androids are never downloading anything.. the updates are all manual and I keep the wifi on em switched off when not needed..

I also notice that my videos dont buffer when i pause em on youtube.especially long videos. they will buffer a minutes content and stop, and resume buffering when i resume playing.

Would this have to do with any cache related to youtube or the browsers, and maybe cos it gets full it wont allow me to surf any more pages after the issue occurs?

This is normal with YouTube now. It doesn't cache much at all anymore.

Same is the case with me.

I have 512 Kbps connection with wifi.
system specs are-
phenom X2 545
3 gb ram
win 7

Sometimes while watching a video on youtube the buffering stops.I try to refreshing the page but nothing happens(the grey circle on the tab keeps spinning slowly).
When i try to load some other page, say google,it does not load too.
I try in other browsers but in vain.I can only access internet after restarting my computer.I have a wifi so when i try on my android internet works fine.

Interesting thing is when this problem happens web pages are the only thing i cannot access while utorrent and counter strike work fine.

Any possible solution?

On finding that i was not the only one,i searched on the net a little bit and found an easy solution.

This problem usually occurs with those who use AVG antivirus.Do you use one?If yes, read on.

All you gotta do is disable video acceleration by going to the advanced settings, then to link scanner, then to online shield and finally unchecking the acceleration option.

Hope i helped!

Hi there, I did register here just to reply to this post. I did have the very same problem with my Chrome for the past two weaks or so and it began to be very annoying after a while. I have found a solution for this on google, which really did solve my problem for good. (At least seems like that so far.)

What you have to do is to add no-sandbox (with a space before the no), right behind the target address of the chrome shortcut you have on your desktop. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it really did work for me. If this was kinda chaotic for you guyz, I'm sorry, I'm not a native speaker.

Hope this helped. :)
