You'd think advertisers and vendors like itunes, google video, and of course, those who sponsor the videos and full eps. on CBS homepage will have issues with this

Viacom is one of the more agressive media companies in getting into the digital space. They probably had planned on this from the start, but had to get everything removed from the site first.

Either way, copyrighted videos are what made youtube so great. Lets see how this turns out though. Is Viacom going to force feed what they think we should watch or let the community decide that.

Probably the latter. There are all kinds of rights issues with the content and they can't just let it run free.
