Youtube skipping/lagging on my Linux box

It used to work fine, I don't know what happened. Its not the internet connection. I have PinguyOS(which is based on unbuntu). And I don't know really much about linux. Is there anything I can do?
Btw I tried with Chromium and Firefox, same thing.

Is it the network, or the video that's choppy? Youtube's network has been crap lately. Most videos don't buffer well, and you get stuttering and pauses.

I realize you said it's not the network, but you could have the best connection in the world, and Youtube still won't stream properly. Just making sure.

I notice the problem when I'm viewing videos in 1080P.

Doesn't happen using chromium with pepper flash though.
