Youtube not working on new PC

On my new PC, I can't get youtube videos to play. I get the following error: JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player.

I have Java runtime environment running (coffee cup in bottom right corner) and the newest flash player. Youtube help menu doesn't offer any insight. Any thoughts? thanks

Javascript is selected in the browser settings. Look through your security settings.

everything is enabled. no dice. hmmmm

What browser are you using? Try a different one and see if that helps.
