Today I was looking for information on how to do a specific repair. I went to WWW.YouTube. com and in the search bar typed in "galaxy s3 ear speaker replacement". Within a second I had thousands of relevant videos. The very first one I clicked on showed me exactly how to do the repair. In less than 3 seconds I had all the information I needed at my fingertips!

Having saved so much time on that job, I searched "Russian fail video" and had hours of entertainment.

What a great website!

Agreed. When you stop laughing at drunk rednecks blowing parts of their body off and fat girls breaking furniture by dancing on it, you can find really useful stuff.

I hate videos of instructional stuff. They make a nice supplement to text and photos, but I don't like it as a sole source.

YouTube is a Godsend when you have kids. Nothing works better than a quick Peppa Pig video to calm down a screaming rugrat for a few minutes :)

It helps me put the pieces together. I learn hands on. I can read how to do something but until I do it, I don't process it. YouTube gives me both at once. Some days I feel like I'm in the Matrix having information uploaded directly into my brain.

I enjoy Youtube. I don't go there a tonne, but when I do I end up getting sucked down into a vortex of awesome and/or weird and disturbing.

It's nice until you end up getting nothing done because you got sidetracked and ended up on some weird channel of an adult man in diapers breast feeding.

I've used it for everything from Galaxy S4 Screen and Digitizer replacement, AC Repair, Shower floor construction, and even vinyl fence door installation (more complicated than you think). It's my first source of repair instruction when I can't figure something out.

Youtube is great - the user generated content,.. usually not.

I don't like the videos where the person holding the camera is trying to perform open heart surgery or build something with both their hands. The camera fumbles and falls all over the place, while the mouth breather keeps yammering on and on. Or, they position it on a place where the camera will tip over. Use a tripod FFS.

Mouth breathing - hearing the camera person breath is awful. Hearing them breath into the mic is also annoying.

Clicking/snapping noises made by the person holding the camera - are they just flipping on and off various switches?? Does the camera even have that many switches?? WTF are these noises and sounds?

Wind - nope, I leave the video ASAP.

Uuu,.. uhhh,... um,... yeah. So,.. so,.. yeah, uhhm,.. yeah,.. uuuuuuuuuuuuuu..... uuuuuuu, yeah... um,.. yeah. Oh, I forgot the most important part is that you do not forget under any circumstances to uuuuuuu,.. uhm,.. uh,... uh, um, um, um,.. uuuuuuh,....

Conspiracy theory videos - the fading in and out of text and "important" messages, while metal or eerie music is playing is a testament to the douchery this person embodies.

I have to admit, the repair videos on youtube have saved me more than once.

They've saved me more time than anything. It's handy when you know exactly what you're getting into when repairing something. Having a 10 minute video lets you know you can probably do whatever you're doing in 10-15 minutes. :D

youtube is a great resource for diy projects, repair stuff etc. I've used it many a time to see how to fix something or find out the best way to do something. Yeah, the funny vids are a time drain, but it can be a great resource.

You'd love my videos... Over 100 and only 3 of them have sound:). I delete the sound layer and encode them without sound.

So much easier editing not having to worry about sound.

Yeah, youtube rocks.

Was in Home Depot the other day, and they actually had a couple product stands with a big Youtube logo directing people to their channel for instructional and idea videos.
