If AMD has a new card waiting in the wings for an imminent launch, this is the best time to get it out there while nvidia is getting roasted for lying about the 970 specs. If the situations were the opposite nvidia would be capitalizing on this big time.

Of course the card is going to have be decent. Faster than 980 for a similar price or about the same performance for less money. Either would go down really well right now. Put 4GB of VRAM on it and call it a real 4GB of full speed VRAM
