i'm not sure if i've missed something but is it OK for people to upload clips from movies or tv shows on Youtube? i see a lot of them but i thought this was copyright infringement or something to that effect... i'd thought they would be banned by whoever owned the rights to the material. can someone explain? thanks!

Until it gets flagged for violation, it will stay up. There is nothing that stops people from uploading them, but if it is a copyright violation YT will remove it.

I came across one that was removed just a few minutes ago.
 
thanks Wyndru! that makes sense.. i guess they're too many on there for the copyright holders/YT to go after.

well ADDA, i kind of guessed but i needed to know for sure. i'm doing a research project. and i've been on the net since '98.. i know, i'm such a noob 😛
