YourScreename@aim.com

So now that AOL is offering 2GB of email to it's AIM users, who's going to use it?

Incoming IMAP email server address: imap.aim.com
* IMAP port number: 143
* Outgoing SMTP email server address: smtp.aim.com (requires authentication)
* SMTP port number: 587
* Alternate SMTP port number: 25

I wish they had pop support 🙁

I was mad that I had a message from them waiting for me and I had to login just to delete it....that blinking icon in my systray was annoying.

BTW...somewhere in your settings you can block all mail to your account. Try finding it...it's in the spam settings.

I use trillian. I doubt that feature will work for me.

I'm happy with Gmail.

:thumbsup:

Dispite an average of 5 daily threads from people stating that they're down?

Those people are retarded. Gmail's POP has never gone down in the whole time I've used it. Thunderbird checks it every 10 minutes for me and has NEVER thrown an error.

I won't trust AOL with my email.

Yeah, this is pretty much the case. I registered it because it put nonsense in my system tray that was getting on my nerves.

I figure it might be useful as a throwaway e-mail address though.

I never knew about this till the other day when someone sent me an email. I had a popup when I signed into AIM that I had mail. I was like WTF!

QFT. If more people learned to use search engines... so many fewer questions would be asked. Our forums would be empty!

last thing I need is AOL based email - yuck. The only reason why I use AIM is because my friends have it, I'm trying to convert them to google talk tho 🙂
