You're at a restaurant, you use the restroom, and there's no soap

This pisses me off to no end! I'm at a pub eating lunch and then I go to the bathroom and there's no soap. That in itself was bad enough, but then I noticed the residue on the sink was all dried up...ergo they hadn't refilled the soap in awhile!! Now what am I supposed to conclude from all this? Obviously the people working the grill are human, and nature calls on them too, so they're probably NOT washing their hands!!??? WTF??? I complained and the bartender's like "oh yeah, I thought they filled it this morning." Eventually they did fill it and I washed my hands (otherwise I wouldn't be typing now) but seriously, aren't they supposed to get in trouble for this??

Call your local Health Department and let them know of a possible Salmonilla outbreak due to the managements lack of provided sanitary items.

If you want to be an ass about it, call the health department. I don't know how close the two are related, but it would be funny if their liquor license got pulled as a result.

A lot of restraunts have seperate bathrooms for their employee's. Then again, a lot of them don't... Either way, it sounds like a raunchy bathroom and a horrible bathroom sets an example for the way the rest of their store probably looks, including their freezer and dishes they cook with.

Whenever I encounter a bathroom with no soap, I go into a psychotic rage. I break the mirrors, and smash anything I can find in the bathroom. If there is anyone in there with me, I beat the hell out of them. If I have a lighter on me, I set fire to the building. I go out into the restaurant and break plates and glasses. I punch the walls until my fists bleed.

Was there sawdust on the floor??

i just wouldn't want to go there anymore, if they're dirty and unkempt... not worth it even if the food is good.

I would stop eating there, but report them to the Health Dept, for sure. As for the soap problem, I would ask a woman if there was soap in the ladies room, and use that. Otherwise, just get the water as hot as possible.

I've eaten at some pretty trashy looking restaurants in my life. I know there's no way every single one of the dozens of people working at most restaurants have washed their hands. And yet I've survived for all this time. I don't let things worry me like that. The risk of something happening is pretty remote.

I hate to sound like a fast food training video, but it really only takes one asshat not washing their hands to get you sick. You'd be surprised how many people will handle money, raw meats then ready to serve food without so much as rinsing their hands off.

Yeah, you can't win them all, but I'd rather give them a sh!t storm from the health department than being sick for a week with the runs and vomitting.

Don't remember if it was local, state or federal, but when I had a restaurant in Pennsylvania, we had by law/regulation to post signs in the bathrooms reminding our employees to wash their hands.

We were small, and had extremely conscientious employeess (it was a vegetarian restaurant after all), and the signs were embarrassing, as patrons used the same bathrooms, but the health inspector insisted, 'twas the law.

Also, we never had soap, but we had naked female interns who never left the loo and would lovingly tongue and caress the patrons' hands until dry. Repeat business was astounding. You'd be amazed at how many customers insisted on washing their genitals as well.

I wash my hands before going to the bathroom... not going to handle my package with dirty hands!
