There on TV, my Kids see them....they are adds on what a Woman wears to protect herself from the once per month cycle. Do they belong on TV??? Shouldn't this be kept private???

I haven't watched TV in awhile, are they actually advertising the products during kid shows?

I couldn't agree with you more..it's not like they advertise condoms or whatever. I personally get really sick watching these commercials, especially since I like to eat when watching TV as well..

Hey, boys... guess what? It happens.

Girls can start their period as early as 9 or 10... these days, the average age has decreased to about 11 or 12. (maybe this is why they advertise during children's shows? because kids, many of which have probably started menstruating already, are watching)

Instead of being embarrassed or ashamed about a perfectly natural occurrance, I think it's perfectly fine for advertisers to get the info out. Increase knowledge and decrease the uncomfortableness surrounding the subject... it's nothing I'd bring up over the dinner table, but it WILL come up in one context or another.

If it makes you THAT uncomfortable, just change the channel. There's no need to deprive us female consumers (or male, if we send you out for 'em ;) ) of info.

they should put some condom ads... otherwise there is no equal balence. However I dont mind the ads, its just sometimes those ads suck the guts out of me.

<< There are condom ads on TV, I don't know what you guys are talking about. >>

My thoughts exactly... haven't all of you seen the commercials for Trojans? (Trojan Man...)

Besides, comparing condoms to pads/tampons isn't logical. We ladies HAVE to deal with the monthly visitor, whether we want to or not... it isn't a choice, like sex is. We can't exactly ignore our period, put it off, or wait for a more convenient time to have it. When it happens, it happens.

If you want to equally compare condoms to something, you should be asking why there aren't commercials for dental dams or diaphrams...

It just happens to be one of the inevitables in life. You may not want to see them and likewise for your children, but without the knowledge of what's out there you lose valuable information. I say valuable in terms of protection and things. There would be far less teen pregnancy with the proper advertising for it, at least IMHO.
