Your Uses for a Modded Xbox

Modeps

Lifer
Just want to ask you guys, what YOU use your modded xbox for? Don't just say "goto xbox-scene.com" because I've been there lots, just looking for what the atot crew uses it for.

I've got XBMC installed and configured to read off my desktop's harddrives, but I need some more suggestions as to what else I can use it for. I know you can put emulators up there, but are there any useful applications I can put on?

I use XBMP for streaming music and video from the network.
I've installed both Windows CE and Linux, and used various smaller apps on them before I got bored with the limitations of it.

As far as applications on it most of the apps I use are media, emulator, dvd players, and rippers.

So that's it eh? Intogamer menetioned DivX... I thought that was just a codec.

it plays basically everything I've thrown at it. not to mention, it plays them from shared folders in my home lan.
I use it as a DVD player as well.
Emulator
Karaoke 😉

and I use it to play game sometimes 🙂

Well, let's see my roommate has one, there's over 30 games on there... 4 controllers, so people tend to like it just for that.

XBMC for streaming music off of our 3 computers in the house, view pictures, DVD player/divx player, actually it plays just about any format. There's some pretty neat XBMC scripts for viewing game trailers, movie trailers/reviews, etc, but I guess you may as well use a PC for that.

All I use mine for is XBMC anymore, with a 250GB drive full of my junk. I really should get rid of it, now that I think about it.

use it to store and play movies and tv series. have all of B5 on it right now... a little emulation, but other than that not much.

XBMC - > playing 100 gigs of movies off samba share
games - 120gig hdd full of games on the box itself

divx movies

watching DIVX movies on my TV. And loading on games I own because they play lots faster off the hard drive than off the DVD. Load times are much less.

if you pocket pc with wifi, you can browse to XBMC's web control page and you have a nifty wifi remote for your media player.

I have no xbox, I have no mod, I have no use for one. The A64-based HTPC prototype from back in the day still does a glorious job.
