It's like lonely little kids who will take any dare, because they think the other kids will like them if they would just eat that worm or pick up dog crap with their bare hands.

Well said.

the only 'reality tv' that i actually enjoy is fear factor, american chopper, and monster garage.

whenever i see shows like the bachelor, american idol, big brother, survivor, real worl, etc, it actually makes me physically cringe. it pains me to see retards acts like idiots for a minute in the limelight. and that the general american public would watch crap like that.

I really like Big Brother. I like that I can watch as 12 (or however many) people from different social/racial/economical groups get thrown into a confined space and are forced to live/compete/deal with each other. I like that I can watch these people think they are making friends. I like to watch these people build-up and break-down aliances on a weekly basis.

But if I had a choice to watch something 24/7, it would be MST3K.

I watched the first season of Monster garage, but stopped. When's it on now? I also started watching American Chopper, which is cool.

It's about time some of these idiot actors have a tougher time finding a job. The good ones will still make it disspite the new "game" shows.

BTW, anyone watching this big, fat obnoxious show on now. That is funny as sh1t.

like me and my buddies ever watch it when we're alone.

just like buffy, we only watch them when girls want to. cuz if we don't they'll bitch and whine and we'll never hear the end of it.

if american chopper and american idol are on at the same time, what would you say the odds of me watching what i want to are?

damn women...

I consider reality shows a very cheap way to make popular TV programs which can cater the masses. Get some people, put them into a house / make them humiliate themselves in front of millions / get a rich loser and 25 women or men. Cheap but very cost-effective.
I also consider them non-demanding trash, but it doesn't matter.

I will watch American Choppers (only saw two episodes but have nothing against it), started enjoying American Idol this season and have always liked COPS and LAPD:Life on the Beat and similar shows. I do not and will not watch Big Brother, Real World, Survivor, etc. because it is there that I agree with your friend, Dezign.

That having been said dude does need to lighten up some...I bet he can crack walnuts with his ass!

Wow, seems like your co-worker is a complete jerk. It seems like he takes simple things like a reality show way too serisously. Just ignore what he has to say...

I think reality shows are interesting and fun to watch...

Here's the thing: before "reality TV" the money went into writers, actors, directors, etc. and the shows weren't of any greater noticeable quality, on average. In fact, I find reality TV more entertaining than low quality sitcoms and dramas.

If people don't like them, I'm not sure why they don't just watch something else or read a book.

I agree w/ co-worker - up until that last moronic "corporate media machine" statement. I hate reality shows. Nothing real about them. There's WAY too much crying and wild displays of emotion from these losers playing to the camera, trying to break into the biz. There are way too many pathetic people reaching out for attention these days (YAGT's?).

same type of retards who rubberneck on the fwy to see the accidents and cause traffic backups for miles.

the only thing i wonder about is what the target demographic is. i'm assuming young women.
