Newegg is still my # 1 choice. I've used them for years and they have always had great customer service and good (though not always the best) prices. ZZF is a close 2nd though.

I use ZZF, mwave, monarch and sometimes outpost. Stopped using newegg over a year ago.........

yes the fact that they switched to UPS was very bad, USPS would have even been a betetr choice butt heys hould have stuck to fedex
then they have been raising the cost of shipping when back int he day all shipping was free
AND what i hate the most about Newegg now is that they stack shipping costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never had a problem with newegg. I've searched all over the net and it isn't worth a few bucks for me to go to some random shady internet dealer. I'll go with the cheapest price at the most trusted reseller.
If the price difference is under $10 and you continue to scour resellers to save yourself that $10, then you need to get a better job. Is that one or two extra days of waiting going to kill you? If so, you need to get out of the house more. Or if you're a person who sells custom computers for a living, you need to get a better product delivery deal setup for your business.

Also, thoes who get their panties in a bunch over which courier a reseller uses needs to just get over it. Both fedex and UPS are equally sh!tty. They hire the same low level monkey employees who do the same boneheaded things at either company. FedEx vs UPS is splitting hairs, no matter which way you cut it.

Once a reseller becomes as large and popular as newegg the magical free 2day shipping the competitors offer will go away. If you pay attention at all you should know this is the cycle of internet reselling.

I just ordered a 300 GB Seagate SATA drive from Newegg, which arrived right on time and perfectly packaged. The only problem was that the email with the tracking number was sent about 4 hours AFTER I had received my drive, but that didn't bother me much since I had already looked up the tracking number on their website---

Never had a problem with newegg. I live in CA so I get taxed by Newegg, Mwave, or ZZF.

You whiners just wait until ZZF gets bigger and FedEx raises their rates too. Hahahaha

They didn't "switch" to UPS...they added the service.

You are wrong on both of these. UPS is a cheaper option than Fedex which brings to the reason why Newegg started using UPS as their default carrier, Fedex increased their prices.

I have never had a problem with orders at newegg. I have always hated thier over pricing on shipping smaller items

Speaking of which, I ordered a GFX 5200, PVR-500, and MCE Remote. I was charged $4.99 per item which brung the total shipping to $14.99. Could they have not have simply thrown everything into a bigger box and not sent me 3 seperate packages?

*sigh*

Newegg isn't what they used to be but there are other stores just as good as them now a days.

I understand the sales tax issue... because even if newegg was out of state, I would be required to pay a use tax of 8.25%.

The only issue I really have with is that newegg does not have a pickup option, but thats probably an insurance issue
