Okay, I think I finally have it nailed down. Now I'm concerned with any compatability issues or problems people have had with individual components. Here it is ...

Athlon 64 3000 winchester $146 shipped
Corsair VS1GBKIT400 1GB Kit PC3200 CAS2.5 $81 shipped
MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum Ultra $137 shipped
Leadtek GeForce 6600GT PCIe $189 shipped
Seagate 80GB w/8MB and NCQ $72 shipped
OCZ OCZ45012U ModStream ATX 2.0 450W $59 shipped AR
Antec SLK3000B $46 shipped

Total : $730 shipped

Already have some optical drives.
I'm not a hardcore gamer, mostly use the www and sim/tycoon games.
My current rig is ancient (read athlon 500mhz, 192mb ram, etc) so I expect anything I get will seem great.

Your comments are appreciated!

Thanks

Jaime

Sounds like a good overall rig. I haven't had much luck with Leadtek products in the past, but hopefully it will work for you better. I know MSI makes a 6600GT as well and that would pair great with your motherboard.

I have that Leadtek, and it works great. It has a very good heatsink/fan on it.

Be sure to read Anandtech's review on the MSI card:

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't plan on OC'ing at all. It seems a shame to get the ocz modstream and not even have a case window. Oh well, it sits under my desk anyway.
