Your teflon pots and pans are killing you.

No Teflon coated pans here. Well, ok, some, but, I don't use them that often and not on acidic foods so I'm fairly certain my exposure is minimal.

Rumors have been flying about Teflon for years, so most of my family has been cautious.

Will this be the 'lead' of our generation... guess we'll have to wait and see.

You will get more leaching chemicals from plastic containers.

I always knew to stay away from those "non stick" pots and pans. They wear off over time and that teflon crap gets into your food. Another probable cancer causer. When we bought our pots a couple weeks back we only looked at pots that didn't have those "non stick" coatings.

What the study DOESN'T say is what levels of this chemical cause harm. You'd probably have to be literally scraping food off the pans with a metal chisel four meals a day for 20 years to get any sort of damaging buildup of the chemical.

We've talked about this in our polymers class, basicly there's so much of this out there that going without it would be a MAJOR life changing decision. The general concensous is that unless it starts causing guaranteed third arms on the children, the public will just take the risk for the added convience.

I don't like teflon coated cookwear anyway since I have to worry about scratching it. All stainless steel for me please.

The third arm doesn't really bug me but I do with microsoft would come out with a keyboard to accomodate people like me.

It also makes multitasking with pr0n easier.

its not just PTFE, its a chemical used in making the stuff that may linger in the final product The Teflon chemical C8 is part of a broader family called perfluorochemicals

Never mind the Teflon pots, i love my Gore-Tex jacket (which is made with teflon) and all those other cheaper ones that have come out in the past couple years since the pattent ran out.
The telfon is essensially F3-C2-F3 if i remember correctly. Im more worried about those hormone mimicing chemicals that seep out of plastics that make testicles turn into ovaries and men grow breasts than teflon
