I swear to God that I am just going to stop paying taxes. I am sick of funding this crap. Speaking of crap, I need to find my UN toilet paper.

Then I am sure you would like to learn of a couple other gross wastes of money...

Like 300K to buy wind chimes for Welfare housing projects to help calm the residents down in an "effort" to lower crime.

Or the 200K used to buy insence for the same reason.

How about the thousands (don't know number) of dollars taken by a congresswoman for tatoo removal in her district?

How about the fact that in most states, candy, chips, etc can be purchased with food stamps, but they can't buy soap with it?

It is pretty sickening.

It sounds like the condoms were tested here in the states and the passed the tests. The UNFPA didn't knowingly buy faulty condoms. So whats the problem??

Why couldn't these have been sent down to a country like columbia that would actually put them to good use.

We can just confiscate them back when they show up on an X-Ray with a couple ounces of cocaine in them.

The U.S. Congress passed the Foreign Operations spending bill in December 2001, increasing UNFPA funding by 36 percent but setting a $34 million spending ceiling for the current fiscal year. Because of the spending ceiling, President Bush has the authority to determine how much, if any, of the money will be allocated. So far, the administration has not released any of the funds.

Did you read the article or are you even aware of how the UN is funded and by who?

Hopefully GW will not release this years funds at all.

"We're not buying them. The UNFPA is buying them."

The U.S. is the single largest contributor to the U.N., so technically, we are buying them with our tax dollars.

Thats fine with me. Thats less wheat and crops and crap we will have to send over the next time there is a famine. Obviously if they are leaking thats a problem, but its not like it was their fault. :/

I knew my comment was going to be bombarded with these arguments. Yes, our tax dollars are going towards funding of this program. But if you want to look at it that way, why aren't there "Your tax dollars supported bin Laden," or "your tax dollars help shoot down a missionarys plane in SA" outrage threads?? (ok, there may have been those in the past) My point is, yes, we do fund this program, but so do other nations. This is a global problem (overpopulation) and requires a global effort.
The orginization that Steve Mosher (whose quotes and rhetoric are used for much of the artical) seems to think that overpopulation is a good thing.
