You crazy? They'd probably learn more...I know I'd have paid more attention in school if my teacher was hawt. That's a personal opinion.

Well, maybe not as much attention to the subject matter, but still...I have a feeling AP Physics would have been a lot more interesting.

I know this is a repost. I remember the discussion that ensued. It was a spinoff thread from the Oregon law thing. In fact, I think you even posted in it. Fvck searching though, I'm too lazy and don't care enough.

Here's the problem...

As teachers, we are held to a code of ethics that pretty much says we will be moral role models. If a teacher had a past that included prostitution or being a porn star, it would probably end up being an issue in the community. Unless she (or he!) were teaching in a community that was willing to overlook it, it would be too distracting. Think about it: If you could see movies of your teacher getting DP, would you respect her? Would you take her seriously? Keeping in mind you are a teenager and not a mature adult... I have a very hard time believing that most kids could handle that kind of info about someone who is supposed to be in authority over them.

That said, I find it annoying that as a teacher, I have to mind my Ps and Qs constantly. The next thing you know, I'll be accused of trying to further a liberal agenda in my classroom because I teach about multiculturalism...

It depends on how long ago she did it. One of my high school teachers was in porn, but by the time she was my teacher too many years has passed and she wasn't hot anymore.

That was a theme on Boston Public. I wouldn't really care, as long as it didn't impact her ability to teach the class. If word of it got out and students didn't respect her as a teacher, then, yes, it would then be an issue.

Why?
If she can teach well then whats the problem? Who cares if she takes her clothes off for money when she out of the class room. It's not like she is going to be stipping in class, or attempting to promte her lifestyle.

see.. here is the thing. there are all kinds of ppl in the world with different ideas on what is and is not acceptable. ad while i will respect other ppl determining what is right for them and their children... I reserve the right to determine what I feel is right and wrong and what is acceptable behaviour for my kid.

And my thoughts on it are this... I do not think strippers, prostitutes or pron stars are the type of role models I want my kid to have. If it is a case of an EX stripper, pron star or prostitute who has decided that they want ...ermmm... a different life and no longer do these things, I would be ok with it. But again, Strippers, pron stars and prostitutes are not the kind of ppl that i want to have any influence over my kids.

:)

That's her problem to deal with, not mine. As I said in my other post, if she can deal with a classroom full of teenagers oogling her all day long, and she still teaches the curriculum why do I care? Hell I didn't pay attention in high school and still did well. It's not like they're learning nuclear physics anyways.
