I just use WinVNC and that's through my home network only. not through the intarweb. 😛

work- we use Cisco VPN to get into the corporate newtork from remote locations/home

i used to have VNC on my home desktop and would sometimes access it , but last time i redid my main desktop, i didn't bother, there isn't much on my home pc, i mainly use it to play games/surf/email

I'm wonderin' about mainly the VNC users...b/c I've now got DSL...and would like to know how I can access it through my provider...b/c I've got a 192 addy...which obviously won't be reached from anywhere else on the 'net 🙂

192 is probably your internal IP. Check your router/modem's IP.

At work, we just Watchguard's MUVPN and then have them attach to their PC via PC Anywhere. Works alright.

I connect back and forth between home and work machines via Remote Desktop (aka Terminal Services). F1 for help. 😀 (seriously, the Windows help on it is decent) To get through a firewall you may have, you need to enable port number 3389.

That's only available on WinXP Pro tho isn't it?

You can only access WinXP machines, but you can access them from any OS.

We have 2 USR Total Control units with I think about 20 dsp cards total. Each card handles 2 t1s. Yay 🙂
There are a couple portmasters kicking around in various places but I don't like them 😀

Any other VNC users in here? I'm tryin' to get it to work as a server on the INSIDE of a netear RT314 and login from the outside... I've got port 5900 forwarded to the IP that VNC is runnin' on...but is there a firewall or filter or something keepin' me from gettin' in? I can ping the IP of the router...but I can't get a VNC login...hmmmmmmmm

I use RAS from a Pocket PC device to connect it to a unix box... does that count?

I'm all about Terminal Server, VNC, then pcAnywhere.
