I wonder if Apple would purposely announce the next iPhone refresh maybe an hour or so earlier on the same day to try and steal Samsung's thunder. I think that would be interesting.

At least Samsung is going to finally release the G2 (not to be confused with T-Mobile's offering!), but how long until the G3 comes out? :p

If the delay is so Verizon gets a low-power LTE version, I'm totally for it.

Otherwise, ugh.

Actually that I could see as forgivable. I've never worried about 4g battery usage on my evo because sprint sucks and I've only been in an area with 4g coverage for about 2 hours since it was released, but now that Verizon brought LTE to tulsa, I am quite sure I'll be using it a good amount :D

Also, when the SII FIRST was getting ready to come out, weren't they saying quad core S III's would be coming out by the end of '11?

If the carriers didn't need their damn bloat on this phone, it would have been out months ago. I hate US carriers.

I understand what you're saying with the "stealing thunder" comment but Apple doesn't work that way. Considering how connected they are with the media and with forum posters, they send out invitations a few weeks ahead of time and let media hype build and the viral forum comments start spinning. By the time the actual event hits, everyone and their 100 year old grandmother knows Apple is holding a media event.

As one of the many BURNED by the Fascinate...well, screw this phone and its battery sucking display that gets hotter than the sun on anything other than black!

Meh, the day Samsung makes a phone I want, I'm going to go back to a fliphone...

The Galaxy S2 is faster, thinner, has a better display, better camera, and better battery life than any of it's competitors from HTC and Motorola. Plus Samsung hasn't tried to lock down their phones at the expense of the modding community which is more than can be said for the other two.

If you don't care about any of those features a fliphpne probably is the perfect option.

Thinner and FAR more likely to break. The display still sucks for reading text. As long as you never use the display with colors or white backgrounds, then yes, it will have better battery life.

As for open to the community...read up on what they did to the US carriers for the first one. I went through SIX Fascinates over months and dealt with issue after issue.

Perhaps they have learned their lesson, but ill wait til its been released for a couple months before they're allowed back in my good graces.

All of the reputable review sites tested the GSII's battery life just like every other phone and it was clearly superior.

The GSII does not have a pentile display like the first generation phones did so text will be much crisper

I don't need to read about the original Galaxy S, I've owned a Captivate for more than a year now and aside from the GPS being slow to lock it has been an exceptional phone. In fact the US Carriers are solely responsible for the lack of updates to the original Galaxy S phones which amplified the few issues the phones did have.

You are also forgetting that the Galaxy S2 has been released for a couple of months allready, the US carriers are just dragging their feet on releasing it here like they always do.

Its the same screen as the Charge, right? Text looks like shit compared to an OG DROID or my Thunderbolt.

The Fascinate PALES in comparison to my Thunderbolt. For starters the Samsung screens are not as wide, thus typings quite a bit leas fun. And the size of text when reading in portrait mode suffers too.

Ill gladly eat my words if the things lagfree with no issues. It seems like youre really hyped about it, so I hope it does turn out to be a killer phone. ;-)

PS. You weren't binged! You have no idea the hell I went through lol!!
