Your package missed a flight - FedEx

I paid for overnight shipping on a mobo and cpu. It was scheduled to arrive today at 3:00pm. I checked tracking and it said it was in Texas; I'm in Montana. I called and was told that my package missed a plane. OK, now a package can't miss a plane. It isn't like the package was having lunch or something. FedEx goofed; the package had nothing to do with it. Should arrive tomorrow. Bummer, I paid for overnight, and I get 2 day at best. I've never had an overnight from FedEx fail before.

Grrrrrrrrrr. I like living in Montana, but there are times when I hate being at the mercy of shipping companies for products.

On a positive note, this is still 1000 times better than my experiences with setting up DSL service through Qwest.

File a complaint with the place you ordered from since they'll be able to get a refund on the shipping from FedEx. Stuff happens, but at least this time you have a recourse.

Agreed. If you ordered from a certain large and popular computer e-tailer that uses FedEx almost exclusively, I have every belief that they will take care of you.

Hey thanks for the tips. I called (mwave), and they said to call them when the package arrives. At that point they will file with FedEx for a shipping rebate. I didn't know that was an option. That's cool.

And, Rectalfier, when that stupid package arrives, I'm going to tell it a bunch of things!!! For one thing, what the heck is it doing. I just check again and it is Memphis, TN. Hello, package, I'm up here in Montana you idiot! If you know about Austrailian Cattle Dogs, you will know that they are some stubborn, ornery, and tough cowdogs. There is a reason my online name is cowdog!!!! There will be biting when that package and I get face to face... Heh heh.

from that last post I'm getting the impression you live either somwehere the mail gets airdropped to you, or somewhere computer equipment is unlikely to be allowed into the ward ;) :p

cowdog, Memphis is the national hub for FedEx package management.

Unless they've changed business strategies recently, almost every package ends up in
Memphis at some point during shipping.

If the package was going to miss its curfew it should have at least called.

Looks like it's grounded for a while :(

hell, even if you or i go down the fedex or usps and pay for their next day guranteed, that is exactly what it is, guaranteed. you will get your money back, if you don't the person that sold you it is f*cking you because they got credit. i have worked with shipping companies for over 10 years and that is the way it is.

Well my package made it to Montana and is out for delivery... I get a might bit anxious waiting for new toyz.

It's been a bit warm the last few days (above freezing), and I hope a bear doesn't come out of hibernation for a much needed stretch and eat the FedEx driver. Then what would I do?

Heh heh.

No response. The bear must have eaten the dog as a palate cleanser. ;)

You really gotta keep the HEAT on FedEx when your not getting something on time. Last December I had a problem with my Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speakers, so the company agreed to send me a replacement pair. It was shipped from California to Boston, MA. The expected delivery date came and went for five consecutive days and no driver ever rang my doorbell. But what pissed me off the most was that on-line it said that it was out for delivery and then after the 1st day, it said it was 'Delivered.' So I played phone tag with FedEx customer service and the regional warehouse the driver operated from.

Only when I started the process of filing a Fed Ex Lost Package claim, did my Speakers show up the next day. And the box was really beat up when I got the new ProMedia speakers. I was really hesitant to sign as I wasn't sure if the speakers were damaged. All this happened during the Christmas season, and even the drivers manager admitted that they hire a lot of temporary drivers during the Holiday and things 'get lost.'

Ahhh, I have a renewed fondness for UPS.

To follow up, I received my package and called MWave. They said they will work with FedEx, and if they are successful, I will see a credit on my credit card. And that's that. Now I wait and see.

BTW, a note on UPS. A buddy lives in Cooke City, Montana. In the winter, the only road to Cooke and its approx 100 year-round residents goes through Yellowstone National Park (dead ends at Cooke). We go to Cooke frequently in the winter and often see the UPS truck on its way there. I think it would be a cool advertisement to show the UPS truck driving through Yellowstone, dodging bison and braving an ever deeper snowpack to bring something to Cooke City. I have never seen a FedEx truck in Cooke.

glad to hear you got your package. i would contact fedex directly because those overnight services are guaranteed, there is no working, it is black and white. i have never dealt with mwave, but saying that they would work is b.s. you have the tracking number, call fedex up and tell them you are very disappointed and you want your money back and they will. i have worked either for or with the big shipping companies - usps, fedex and ups and i guarantee you that if the high dollar overnight shipping was bought originally and it "missed a flight" you will get your money back. i have filed many claims for this exact reason. good luck :)
